TRESPASSERS ALONG THE HARL

Spotted a couple of obvious trespassing incidents while out and about on this day. I tried to reported the first one to NS police thinking someone would come out and check the guy who was driving down along the siding to CG in Pottstown, but after being back there for an hour the guy left. Unknown what his deal was.

The second trespasser of the day was a dirt bike rider who we saw originally on the north side of the tracks near the Douglassville Hotel. He then went east to Squirrel Hollow Rd and then came back west on the south side of the rails at a fairly high rate of speed. I am wondering if he got spooked at NS 38G made its way east from CP-BIRD.

MISCELLANEOUS SIGHTINGS IN POTTSTOWN

Wasn't really paying much attention to the radio. Just wanted to get some train photos and hang out. So no identifiers with the exception of saying I think they were all pretty much manifests with nothing to exciting. Just enjoying the nice weather.

SPERRY RAIL TRUCK

While sitting at Pottstown Station were heard a nearby detector sound but never heard anything else. All of a sudden glanced up and saw the box truck working the rails. Pretty neat looking piece.

NS 39G WEST OF TILLYS

We felt a little adventurous and decided to walk the Schuylkill Rover trail since we knew run parallel to the rails. We found a spot near TILLYS where you can walk through and see the rails near the switch to Trap Rock Quarry. Westbound 39G came through with some serious stack of Dash 9's including NS 7623, NS 8922,  NS 9068, NS 5223.

H48 HEADS WEST AT HP44 ON THE HARL

H48 (in push pull) picks up a load of empties being stored at TILLYS to be delivered to Dyers in Birdsboro. It was yet another trip walking down the trail helped us to find this spot. Actually off of Old Reading Pk near River Bridge Rd. There is a pedestrian bridge that goes underneath the line and the walking path is 30 yards from the Schuylkill River Trail.

33A MAKING ITS WAY FROM
WYOMISSING JUNCTION TO CP-DUNKLE

NS 33A being pulled by a trio of Dash 9's NS 9975, NS 9383and  NS 8995 run behind the Vanity Fair Outlets in West Reading, PA pulling a mixed load in the late afternoon.

THE 64J TRASH TRAIN

NS 64J being pulled by a pair of SD40-2's NS 3425 and NS 3389 is the trash train bringing empty trash containers back to New jersey through Wyomissing Junction while I waited on the high and wide move.

LOCAL HEADS WEST
THROUGH WYOMISSING JUNCTION

This local managed to sneak through before the high and wide was due to go west. I was impressed on how quickly he managed to get by from a full stop to a decent speed. Managed to get a friendly wave from the crew in NS 5178 a GP-38. I didn't like these locomotives at first but the are growing on me.

HIGH AND WIDE AT
WYOMISSING JUNCTION

Thanks to a tip from some friends <wink wink> I got a call about NS 054 heading west from Allentown to Hagerstown. Not only was the load a huge pair of turbines by the power was two Conrail Quality SD-50's. Looked really sharp and were crawling along through the junction.

Check out the parking job of the car in the last photo. Is this in the right of way?
