Chesapeake City trip with Berks HOG
September 22, 2007

It didn't look like it was going to be a good day for riding but somehow the sun broke out by the time we reached Maryland. I had an almost incident at the bottom of the I-176 ramp at RT-10 in Morgantown. The bike got every which way but straight. Sadly we weren't 100% sure what caused my incident. Some theories include too much brake (front or rear), I think I may have been going too fast but the girl behind me said she thinks I hit some sort of patch in the asphalt. Needless to say those that saw it said it was a nice save. Although I appreciate the words of encouragement I will refer to an old pilot saying and change it up a little for motorcycling.

"A superior motorcyclist is one who stays out of trouble by using Superior judgment to avoid situations which might require the use of Superior skill." - author unknown

We had lunch at the Chesapeake Inn located in Chesapeake City, MD on the C&D Canal. They have their own little marina which had all kinds of boats. With the nice warm weather there were plenty of sights to enjoy while eating dinner. The food there was awesome. I had the crab ravioli which was in a rose sauce that had more crab meat in it. I can't wait to go back for more.

On the way back from Chesapeake City we stopped at the Neuchatel Swiss Chocolates store in Oxford. Cool little store on RT-10 just north of RT-1. All the times I passed and saw the sign I never stopped I think this will become a regular stop.

I didn't take many photos on this trip since I was having such a good time.
